Hi there, We seem to be having sporadic “empty cart” issues on this page: [http://www.theteacherspath.com/] which was built with Premise. There doesn’t at this point seem to be any browser specific issue. Just sometimes people get the empty cart. Client wants the issue fix, but not sure where to start.
Anyone have any ideas or seen this issue before?
Thanks in advance!

Can you please elaborate a bit more?
Do you mean that when somebody tries to add something to the cart they are seeing an empty cart?
Or is it that the cart goes empty after somebody navigates to another page?
If you see an empty cart when indeed you should not this usually means that the site may be having PHP session issues.
Please see this post for recommended courses of action and troubleshooting tips:

April 3, 2013 at 3:46 pm #54802debbuxtonMemberSorry didn’t mean to not give enough details. This is what I know we have people purchasing with no problem at all, but we are getting emails that people when they click the buy button it goes to the checkout page and the cart says it is empty.
I did follow the suggested info on the page you reference and no php session error indicated and checked the wordpress settings.
A couple of other items I found in troubleshooting this issue. I was using Chrome browser (it is the only browser I have that has the java turned off). I got the empty cart from using the buy button here: [http://www.theteacherspath.com]
However, I created a test page ([http://www.theteacherspath.com/shopping-cart-test/]) that has the same buttons (the top set) I am using on the above page, but it is not a Premise landing page. The buttons work fine.
Okay going to just use the images for now and do some more troubleshooting. If you have any further suggestions please let me know.

April 3, 2013 at 10:52 pm #54803wpCommerceModeratorHi, There is a difference between “Buy Now” and “Add to Cart” type buttons. When a user clicks on the “Buy Now” button it takes them directly to the payment page (Example: PayPal) whereas clicking the “Add to Cart” button adds an item to the shopping cart.
On this page – [http://www.theteacherspath.com] you are using a “Buy Now” type text link:
For shopping cart functionality you will need to use something like the following:
You can learn more about how to create different types of text links here:
April 4, 2013 at 8:36 pm #54804debbuxtonMemberYes I know the difference between the two links. I used the buy now text links for the images because that works on that page no matter the browser it seems.
I can’t use the wp estore function for buy now buttons because they won’t line up on the page next to one another, so kind of looks funny on the page and I really didn’t want to take the time to go adjust the css, when I really didn’t mind sending them on to a cart to checkout.
This still does not resolve the issue of why the add to cart buttons won’t work on a Premise page — although today everything seems to be working just fine and I can’t replicate the error I was getting on the Chrome browser. Urrr!
April 4, 2013 at 11:29 pm #54805wpCommerceModeratorWell, I haven’t seen the actual issue yet. So if you temporarily embed a new “Add to Cart” text link (Example: [http://www.theteacherspath.com/?wp_eStore_add_to_cart=8]) on your premise landing page I can check it for you. So please add one there and then let me know.
