Tagged: cookie, members, outside sales page, sales page, visitors, WP Affiliate
We have sales pages that are not located on our site, so is it possible to have this sales page as the destination URL and still have the affiliate cookies work? So far it doesn’t. The sequence goes like this:
1. Member signs up as an affiliate
2. He puts our product link on his website
3. A visitor clicks that link and gets taken to a sales page not on our site.
4. The visitor purchases the product through the WP eStore shopping cart.
When we tested this the affiliate didn’t get a commission, i.e., it never registered so I guess the cookie dead ended on the outside sales page.
We have amended the HTML code in our external sales pages so that they integrate perfectly with WP eStore, it is only the afliate aspect that doesn’t work.
We are trying to avoid having to re-create all our external sales pages. Any insights into a solution would be very much appreciated!
You can create Pass Through affiliate links for this type of setup. This post will explain more:
