Any conflict with Role Scoper and eMember?
Role Scoper will assign reading, editing or administration roles to users or groups on a page-specific, category-specific or other content-specific basis. In my case I want to let a WP user log in but they would only have access to one page or post.
Thanks for any input!

October 21, 2011 at 1:27 am #33699david.leflettMemberI just setup eMember v7.0.8 last month on WP 3.2.1 and I noticed that when a new install of role scoper is active, expired users can’t login even when the eMember setting is checked to allow expired users to login.
Upon clicking login, the browser goes to a blank page. Even going back to the website root address shows nothing but a blank page. As soon as I disable Role Scoper the expired user is able to login and browse the site.
The only thing I setup in Role Scoper is one new group. The group is not added to the test user that I set to expired si I’m not sure what is causing this to happen.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
October 21, 2011 at 6:19 am #33700adminKeymasterMost likely an issue with the name of the role (if it’s not matching then it will act abnormal). Have you customized your default WordPress role names? Have you deleted a role name from the role scoper plugin but it is still specified in eMember’s role section?
Please do the following (Just to make sure that the issue is not resulting from a custom modification or unwanted code changes):
1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s). The specific update instruction for the plugin in question can be accessed from here:

October 26, 2011 at 1:42 pm #33701david.leflettMemberWhat WordPress Role does eMember give to an expired user? I ask because when I look at the user account under WP it shows the role of “-No Role For This Site-” and when in the user list it shows “None” in the Role Column. I believe that Role Scoper does not like a user to have no role at all.
October 27, 2011 at 1:15 am #33702adminKeymastereMember does not change the role of a user when the account expires (it simply sets the account status to “expired”.
November 4, 2011 at 6:05 pm #33703david.leflettMemberWell, when I set a user to “expired” the WP Role changes to None in the WP users list and to “-No Role For This User-” on the users WP Profile so something is happening.
November 5, 2011 at 1:02 am #33704nurMemberthanks for reporting the issue. we have a fix for it. hopefully you will get the update today.
November 5, 2011 at 3:07 am #33705adminKeymasterOkay we updated the plugin slightly to add a condition around the role update. It should only try to update role if the account status is active so for expired account it won’t touch the role values. Can you please get a new build of the plugin from here and update it:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
Let me know if you still see the same behavior after the update.
