I’m with Bluehost and using WP2.85. When I try to activate eMember I get the following error – Site error: the file /home1/byobwebs/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/wp_eMember1.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.
Ioncube loader is installed on the server and I have followed Bluehost’s instructions for activating it for my site. I have created a php.ini file that references ioncube. The reference is as follows:
zend_extension=/home1/byobwebs/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin.so
zend_extension_ts=/home1/byobwebs/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_ts.so
[Zend]
zend_extension_manager.optimizer=/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer-3.3.3
zend_extension_manager.optimizer_ts=/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer_TS-3.3.3
zend_optimizer.version=3.3.3
zend_extension=/usr/local/Zend/lib/ZendExtensionManager.so
zend_extension_ts=/usr/local/Zend/lib/ZendExtensionManager_TS.so
A copy of that file is located in the wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/ folder. What am I doing wrong?
I think it’s the location of your php.ini file. You should probably contact Bluehost to confirm, but I believe you want the php.ini file in your public_html directory.
Bluehost says it should be in the folder with the PHP script that needs it. However, I also have a copy in the publichtml folder.
I called Bluehost again and they said I’d done it incorrectly. They manually did it for me and it worked.
Glad to hear you got it sorted… usually it’s just a matter of requesting your web host and they do it for you (it’s not really something very complicated for them to do)
My hosting provider initially told me that it was installed correctly but it wasn’t. They did some fixes and now it is working fine.
