Do you happen to know what compression settings you used when creating the PDF file in question?
September 7, 2010 at 7:06 am #23985stevecasMemberVersion 1.8
When converting in word it is set to maximum – only other choices are off and tags only. I don’t always create the pdf file as they are contributed to the site.

In the meantime the server killed the script because it crossed the script execution timeout threshold. Increasing the PHP timeout value in the php.ini file to two minutes (120 seconds) helped.
October 28, 2010 at 2:40 am #23988AnonymousGuestI get the same error and my file size is only 127kb plus I used print to adobe pdf to convert my Microsoft Word Document to PDF. Yes I have curl library installed plus I am using php 5.2.9 I also went through the checklist and make sure I did everything it asked and it is still not working.

I was able to stamp my small size PDF (an extract from a large file) successfully but whenever I tried to stamp the large file, it never got successful. I had went to my php.ini file and increase the execution time to different large number and testing after each of them but couldn’t still get the 38.5MB file stamped.
In fact, very funny, I increased the execution time to 900, yet couldn’t stamp still.
August 7, 2012 at 11:42 pm #23991adminKeymasterIf the server doesn’t have enough power to handle stamping of a large file then you will have this issue. Ideally it shouldn’t take more than 5-10 seconds to stamp a file if the server is powerful enough (the larger the file, the more power is needed). More details on this can be found on our minimum requirement page (We make it clear on our sales page that the PDF stamper has minimum server requirement):
Here is an helpful post:

You should never need to set the execution time more than 30 seconds given your server has the power to handle stamping of large PDF files.
