I have many Audio and Video files stored on Amazon S3 and accessed via eMember software. I assume you are planning on upgrading to the new format being implemented today (4/30/2018) and all new files will require this format in less than 60 days?

    Entire email message from Amazon:

    Dear Amazon Web Services Customer,

In less than 60 days, Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, and AWS Storage Gateway are migrating to longer format resource IDs to support the ongoing growth of Amazon Web Services as announced back in December 2017. You can click on “Switch to longer IDs” in the AWS Management Console or use the APIs to receive longer IDs today.

Systems that parse or store resource IDs may not work with longer IDs. We strongly recommend that you test your systems interoperability with longer IDs. After June 2018, all new resources will receive longer IDs. We will continue to support shorter IDs for existing resources.

Additional information, including details of how to test your systems, can be found in the FAQs and docs. Please contact the AWS support team on the community forums or via AWS Premium Support if you have questions. Click below to switch to longer IDs now.

We currently have no restrictions on the string lengths used for AWS paths; so there should be no issues. Furthermore, the link that you provided says:

The new format will only apply to newly created resources; your existing resources won’t be affected.

So you need not worry about your existing S3 files.

Sounds good. Just noting that I put up new content every 2 weeks so I could have a problem in the future, but it seems you are confident that I won’t. I assume that includes Lightbox Pro as well.

PS: I never got an email on this reply. I thought that was automatic?
