If I have my source pdf hosted on amazon s3, can I have the resulting stamped pdf saved on s3 as well? I realize there would be double counting of traffic, but I feel its worth it.
Also, I am considering moving my wordpress to an amazon ec2 instance. Do you know of issues I might encounter, with wordpress and with your plugins?
When using the PDF stamper, the PDF file need to be hosted on this same server as the plugin. PDF Stamper needs to modify the file in order to stamp it and the plugin can only modify files that reside in the same server. I don’t know of any issues with ec2 instance.
This is a huge drawback with this plugin, when other plugins have that feature. Please consider re-working your plugin. Even if I have to buy it again, I want this feature!
…other plugins have that feature.
Pray tell — please name one “other plugin” that has “that feature”…
The limitation exists, because cloud based file systems are not “random access” R/W devices. The API simply do not exist. Prior attempts to shoehorn random access R/W onto cloud based systems by other developers have mostly failed, because of unacceptable latencies, introduced by local buffering.
