I just bought two licenses for WP Affiliate Platform and could not be more excited. Have some customizations that would add to the product for US based users anyway, and I am willing to pay to have these done if it is affordable.
First let me say these two things need to be options on setup of plugin, and would not be used in every single deployment I do for clients.
================
#1 All WordPress Users of Given Permission Level Automatically an Affiliate
Need a WordPress user with a certain permission level (usually Subscriber, but not always) to automatically be an affiliate without further signup. Need to have a single sign-on whether they are on the blog pages or the affiliate back-office pages (which will have the same site design typically).
I am not sure what this does for management of profile, but that is also a detail to work out. Additionally, it seems the affiliate setup notification email would potentially need to be disabled when a member automatically becomes an affiliate.
#2 Affiliates Get “Confirmation” and Payable Status Only Upon Submission of W-9
Need to accommodate 1099 setup for affiliates with an admin toggle that allows the site owner to indicate “Confirmation” that the person has sent in the W-9 documentation so they can be paid via 1099. Obviously this enhancement would primarily be used when paying out by bank wire or paper check, but I suppose it could also apply to Paypal IPN payers.
This would involve A) a method for the affiliate to upload their W-9 to their profile, a permanent “Confirmation” button for the admin, and C)a note in the affiliates back-office with an admin customizable message saying something like:
You have not yet provided W-9 information to confirm your affiliate setup. You will not be paid on referrals until you do. <link>Learn How</link>.
When admins have a mix of US and International Affiliates, obviously they could indicate someone provided a W-9 when the had not really.

I need to have this executed on in the next week, so any assistance on how to do this or who could do this would be much appreciated.

April 3, 2010 at 4:38 pm #19099RedReynoldsMemberI was able to get this knocked out with my WordPress developers. Pretty cool improvements so far on what is already a solid platform.
Working now to extend user_meta so someone can manage their profile either in WordPress User Profile or in WP Affiliate Platform and it all syncs up nicely.
What these changes are allowing me to do is run Your Members membership plugin (or any membership/registration plugin that uses WordPress user profile) with the payment gateway & registration process I choose for a given site. So long as they become a confirmed account within WordPress, the users are instant affiliates and their affiliate link shows up in the member area header like Red’s Affiliate Link:

April 20, 2010 at 3:51 pm #19101kennypMember@RedReynolds: Both tweaks would be helpful for a project I’m working on (but especially members/WP users automatically an affiliate). Would you be willing to share the enhancements?
