Is there any way we can have more tools available to the Affiliates other than the Banner page that is currently available e.g. Text links, html ads, viral pdfs & videos.
Thanks

To make an affiliate link all you have to do is add/append your affiliate ID at the end of the link similar to the following example:
http://www.your-domain-name.com/link-to-your-post-or-page?ap_id=your_affiliate_userid
Now you can use this link from a PDF file or video or whatever.
If I am missing your point please feel free to explain so I can follow it up.
April 5, 2010 at 3:27 am #17844MikeMMemberYou may be missing the point a bit. Having extra fields in one area makes it very easy for the affiliates to get extra promotional materials. EG: I can pre-write an email that already has the affiliates link in it so all they need to do is copy and paste it in. So all they do is log into the affiliate area, and pick what they want to use, whether it is an article, email, short add, signature, etc. all pre-loaded with their affiliate link.
In your example, where would the affiliate find out the information to just add their link to the end of a url? Some new affiliates may not know anything about that, nor is there any place in the banner area where we could put in a paragraph to explain it to them.
Does this make sense?

The way I have it is that I explain everything (how the affiliate program works) in the “Affiliate Programs” page where I send all my potential affiliates (e.g. http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/affiliate_program). It explains the whole process before they even go to sign up.
Rememeber all the text that your affiliates can see comes from the language file (e.g. eng.php) stored in the “affiliates/lang” directory. So you can customize any of these texts and add more guidance for your affiliates where necessary.
For example, the following bit of message is shown to the affiilates in the “Banner Page” which can be modified to add more instructions:
To add the desired banner or link to your website simply Select the code from the text area on the right (Crtl+A), Copy and Paste it into your website. To see the banner full size just click on the banner image.
