Hi there,
I’ve been using both the eStore and eMember plugins for a few years. I recently got the idea of beginning an affiliate program with my site and had the following question.
One of my sites is for my voice over business. What I would like to do is setup a “send me paying customers and I’ll give you free voice overs” type of program. I want to assign customers their own discount code to pass on friends. Let’s say when 3 people redeem your code, I’ll give you a free voice over. I know the Affiliate plugin is mostly about sharing commissions but can it be used in the way I’m proposing? More of tracking system?
Thanks for your time,
Tasherre

There is no automated way of doing exactly what you are asking but you should be able to see which customer sent how many customers your way. And then they can contact you to get their free voice over once they have sent 3 customers your way.
January 31, 2013 at 6:41 am #53452d_enajeticMemberThanks for the reply. That seems like a decent alternative. As said before, I mostly wanted to track the redemption of coupon codes. I tried to create a coupon using that uses the customers last name but I can’t apply a zero value to them. This would be perfect if it worked that way. Is there a way around this? And if not, would you consider implementing this into the eStore or Affiliates? I’m sure there’s plenty of people who would benefit from it.
January 31, 2013 at 6:50 am #53453d_enajeticMemberOk, so I just had the idea of setting the value of the coupon of 0.01 but I found it actually let’s me use 0.00. Earlier I just tried 0 and it would not work. This is exactly what I needed! So my next question would be, is there a limit to how many coupons you can create?
This new finding is exactly what I needed. I’m still going to purchase the affiliate software for it’s intended use on my other sites.

January 31, 2013 at 10:55 pm #53455d_enajeticMemberThanks again for the reply. I’d still would like to suggest an expansion on the way I’m using it. Possibly with pagination and a search function. That would really come in handy when you get into a large number of codes. Again, just a suggestion.
Thanks,
Tasherre
