MemberHi – followed the process in the blog on integrating with Paypal. Payment completes, and then returns to the website return page. Then returns an error message:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to http://www.paypal.com:80 (Permission denied) in /home/www/satalentdynamics.co.za/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/wp_affiliate_platform1.php on line 69
Error! HTTP ERROR… could not establish a connection to PayPal for verification!
Any suggestions?

ModeratorWho is your hosting provider? It may be a firewall issue:

KeymasterThis is an issue with your server so your hosting provider will be able to fix it.
Please tell your hosting provider that your site is failing to process a simple PayPal notification. It gives the following error:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to http://www.paypal.com:80 (Permission denied)
Your hosting provider will then be able to tweak your server to make sure it can make a connection to PayPal server.

MemberThanks – hosting provider tried to sort it out, got somewhere as the error message changed to:
Error! PDT verification failed! Could not verify the authenticity of the payment with PayPal! 0
So I am assuming now that the next step is to check with Paypal, which I will do.

ModeratorThat is good progress. It is likely you entered the PDT code incorrectly in the settings.
Please ensure that you have PDT properly setup:

Then enable and reset the debug logs from settings and do another test.
