Hi,
Im’ using estore+emember+affiliate and I’d like to report a bug.
I’m using revenu sharing + affiliate so thaht when smth is sale the author get 40% and the affiliate 10%
In the affiliate admin everything looks clean but in the affiliate panel the number of sales and the total sales amount are registered twice.
Thanks
February 1, 2013 at 11:09 pm #53488adminKeymasterIs that revenue sharing partner also the affiliate of that sale?
February 2, 2013 at 4:55 pm #53489dorhamMemberYes same account (and id) for both
February 3, 2013 at 11:05 pm #53490adminKeymasterWell then it is working as it should. It is suppose to give the affiliate the normal commission from a sale (if this sale was referred by an affiliate). Then give the revenue sharing partner his/her share. This is how most users want it to work. You understand that even though in this case the affiliate and the partner was the same, this won’t be the case for your other affiliates so you do need to give commission. If you don’t want your partners to get commission from their promotions then simply tell them not to promote the product with their affiliate link.
February 4, 2013 at 5:26 pm #53491dorhamMemberThe affiliation commission looks right but the total amount and the number of sale doesn’t.
Product price = 25$
There is 14 sales on estore but the affiliation shows 28 and the price amount look x2 too
This is because the affiliate gives 10% and then estore revenue sharing 40% but for the affiliate plugin there is 2 sale: one at 25$ and a second after revenue sharing at 22.50$.
14X25 = 350 but the affiliation show me 14×25 + 14×22.50 = 665
The affiliation total is right but not the total, it’s the same sale.
At the end the 10% and the 40% is ok but sales and total is not correct because each sale is registered twice for the affiliation plugin and so products looks to be sold twice and the amount is double too.
February 5, 2013 at 11:19 pm #53492adminKeymasterOkay looks like you are referring to the “Sales Amount” value. Initially from your first post I thought you were referring to the actual commission being incorrectly given which is not the case.
When the affiliate plugin adds a commission it adds the total value of the transaction to the database too. Since this affiliate account is getting two commissions (legitimately) from the same transaction that number is not adding up. Ideally you shouldn’t mix the affiliate accounts that you use for revenue sharing with the normal affiliate referral.
Two options for you:
1) If your partner is referring sales then have him create a new/separate affiliate account and use that account to do the affiliate referrals (this way the account that is used to track the revenue sharing amount will be separate from the affiilate commissions).
2) Explain to your partner why that number looks inflated which doesn’t have any bearing in how much he truly made (all the commissions are correct).
February 11, 2013 at 8:03 am #53493dorhamMemberOk.
Is there is third option like:
Divide the result show by the affiliate plateform with:
. Total affiliate amount
. Total sales amount
and
. Total affiliate number
. Total sales number
I can try to do it myself if you tell me where can I find those functions.
Thanks,
G
February 12, 2013 at 5:33 am #53494adminKeymasterHi, No there is no option to do that. The affiliate commissions are tracked via API calls and need to specify the total purchase amount for each commission that is tracked. Use the options I explained earlier.
Basically, DON’T mix revenue sharing accounts with the normal affiliate account. Simply create different accounts for them. For example, Mike can have two affiliate accounts like the following:
Mike1 – Use this one only to track revenue sharing amount.
Mike2 – Use this one for standard affiliate referral work.
February 15, 2013 at 11:21 am #53495dorhamMemberOk, I’ll run a test with the mike1 and mike2 option and come back if there is any issue.
Thanks for awesome support as usual!
