My WP Affiliate affiliate is directing visitors to a webinar where he is actually doing the sale and he wants to put a Buy Now button on there and then direct the traffic directly to my sales cart page (estore)in WP (instead of my sales page). How can I accomodate this as his affiliate link brings the traffic to my sales page currently?
May 5, 2012 at 11:27 pm #44776adminKeymasterI am not sure I fully understand the actual issue. your affiliate sends the traffic to your sales page using an affiliate link so it should just normally. What is different in what you currently do and what you are trying to do new?
Are all these pages you are referring to (on your site) created using WordPress?
May 7, 2012 at 4:09 pm #44777donseibMemberYEs, all of the pages are under WP. The affiliate is using a webinar program to sell the product and that has a “Buy Now” button for his visitor to click when he is sold and ready to spend his money. At that point, we need to close the sale in the shopping cart and not take him to the salespage which opens the door to more questions, doubts, etc. and jeopardizes the sale.
Is there a way that we can create an alternate affiliate link to go directly to the shopping cart ( http://smokendersonline.com/?page_id=656) rather than just going to the base url?
May 8, 2012 at 2:18 am #44778adminKeymasterYes, your affiliates can send the visitor to any of your pages that are created using WordPress. You also can create another ad/banner/link from the “Manage Ads” menu using the following URL as the “Target URL” so your affiliates can easily use it:
http://smokendersonline.com/?page_id=656
So, all your affiliate has to do at this stage is to send the customer to the following page with his affiliate ID appended in the URL:
http://smokendersonline.com/?page_id=656
He (the affiliate) can simply make the buy button to link to the following URL and it will do the job:
http://smokendersonline.com/?page_id=656&ap_id=AFFILIATEID
your affiliate will replace “AFFILIATEID” with his actual affiliate ID. When the customer clicks on that “buy” link it will come to your shopping cart page with the affiliate ID and then when the customer makes the purchase it will credit the affiliate.
Let me know if that makes sense.
