I use 1and1 for hosting, but have had no issues for a long time with their service. I recently added WP Affiliate to my site, with no issues. I tested it and everything seems fine. However, when I next tried to add a new post with photos (usually 600px), the upload of media failed with this: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 29622272) (tried to allocate 150 bytes) in /homepages/23/d89856409/htdocs/backyardsilver/wp-includes/media.php on line 1025
I increased the memory available in config.php to 80M, but then thought I would try deactivating WP Affiliate and trying the media upload again – this worked successfully. I then activated WP Affiliate, and the upload failed with the same error. As this is the only thing I have done recently in my site, I am 90% sure the issue is with the plugin.
Any ideas?
Steve

The very act of activating plugins, increases your memory requirements (each plugin you activate needs more memory to be able to run).

Increasing your PHP memory limit will fix this.
Alternatively, you can use an FTP client, using the binary transfer mode, to upload your image file, but doing so may just “put off” the error from popping up someplace else.
