Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP Affiliate Platform › Affiliate: Deleting files in plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/ possible?
Tagged: affiliate area, affiliate portal
As I want to make my site more secure, I wonder if it is possible to delete the files in this directory:
plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/
I do not want to use the stand alone affiliate area.
I use eMember as well, but within plugin I cannot make my site domain.tld/xxx/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/login.php hidden.
If I delete files like index.php in that directory, what is happening? Are these files used although with on-page affiliate view?
Please help. Due to my installation I do not want to shoot up everything by deleting these files, but I have to make access to that page impossible without being logged in to a specific membership level.
Regards
Chris
Hi Chris, Don’t delete the full “affiliates” folder. You can delete the “login.php” file.
Alternatively, you can enable the following option from the settings menu of the affiliate plugin:
Do Not Allow Visitors to Signup
If you are going to handle the affiliate signup via the membership plugin then the above option will do the job.
Okay, thank you very much.
The above option – not allowing visitors to signup – works as well with the estore plugin?
I do not want to give all my members an affiliate account unless they have paid a special membership.
Regards.
Yes, it will work with estore too.
