I have set everything thing up and it all works perfectly except that the admin of the site does not get a notification email when a purchase is completed.
I read over numerous threads in the forums and downloaded the test email plugin (which worked) and have not been able to resolve things. I even went so far as installing another ecommerce plugin with a test product and purchasing it which worked fine.
Could really do with some help!
June 19, 2014 at 1:52 pm #63802wzpModerator- Did you fill in the “Notification Email Address” field in the eStore General settings?
- Does sending an email, using the eStore Admin Functions work?
June 19, 2014 at 3:59 pm #63803justinparksMember1. yes
2. yes- sending email form the admin functions works.
June 19, 2014 at 11:48 pm #63804adminKeymasterPlease do the following so we can see if the plugin is sending the email to the admin address:

Once we confirm it, then the following post will help:
June 24, 2014 at 5:53 pm #63805justinparksMemberI arranged the first point and the IPN log has permission and produced these lines:
**SUCCESS :This debug line was generated because you entered the URL of the ipn handling script in the browser.
but still not further after following the second post – I did another test purchase and the IPN log file didnt change either and the email to the site admin simply didn’t arrive… help!
June 24, 2014 at 11:23 pm #63806adminKeymasterI am pretty sure the IPN feature is not enabled in this PayPal account so Paypal is not sending any notification after the payment. Please log into this PayPal account and turn on the IPN feature.
Check “step 6” from the following post which has more explanation.

June 26, 2014 at 12:07 pm #63807justinparksMemberok, so I think I’m understanding the misunderstanding now.
We DO get the notification from paypal – but I have multiple sites and staff linked to that paypal account so I need to be able to identify the site that the order came from (the paypal notification of payment will not do that I think?) and that’s why I was aiming to see if the plugin itself generated a separate admin notification email, just like the email that the purchaser receives… doesn’t it do that? My understanding was it did!
June 26, 2014 at 11:12 pm #63808adminKeymasterYes, the plugin sends an email to the admin also (given you have configured it in the settings). You configure it from the “Email settings” menu… just below the buyer email settings area.
July 2, 2014 at 10:00 am #63809justinparksMemberOk thats all configured – now Im really stumped! Its refusing to send the admin email but absolutely everything else works perfectly… suggestions?
July 2, 2014 at 11:26 pm #63810adminKeymasterI would like to take a look at your debug log file data so I can see if the plugin is sending the admin notification email (I am pretty sure it is but I would like to confirm it).
Can you please post a link to your product or cart page?
July 3, 2014 at 6:09 pm #63811justinparksMember[http://www.coldtub.com/supplies/] – I can get you access ot the admin and whatever else you need as well if that helps.
July 4, 2014 at 12:47 am #63812adminKeymasterHave you done any test transaction? I don’t see any transaction in your debug log file.
July 4, 2014 at 10:46 am #63813justinparksMemberquite a few! Is it not writing to the file? ( I followed all the instructions posted to see it “activate” the log file writing – permissions on ftp etc)
July 4, 2014 at 11:15 pm #63814adminKeymasterIts pretty easy to sort that out. Have you done steps 5 and 6 from the following post?
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/what-to-do-if-the-debug-file-is-empty
July 21, 2014 at 2:17 pm #63815justinparksMemberWe resolved it! Thanks for all your help. Turns out there was a typo in the IPN settings in paypal!
