To make a purchase, the buyer must first register through eMember.
What I would like to do is add the eMember user name, and a link Forgot Your Password? to the Purchase Confirmation email that is send to my eStore customer.
If that is clear, is it possible?
January 24, 2014 at 11:11 pm #60493adminKeymasterCan’t add the username in eStore’s email but you can easily add a link to your forgot password page. The password reset is done via email (so I don’t think a username is necessary anyway).
Go to following area
WP eMember Settings -> Pages/forms settings -> Password Reset Page
Do what the help text of that field says to create a specific password reset page.
Now use the URL of that page in the email where you want to add it.
February 8, 2014 at 4:40 pm #60494CarleneMemberI hope this is on a wish list somewhere. Being able to have the username and the users email, not just their payment email on the purchase confirmations would save me a lot of time. Many people have different emails. I tried responding to someone who bought the wrong membership via the email address in e-store, and she never received the email because her paypal email was her husband’s email and he just thought the email was spam and deleted it.

February 8, 2014 at 11:06 pm #60496adminKeymaster@Carlene, is your question for eStore or eMember? eStore doesn’t do any user management so I can’t see how this can be a question for eStore. eMember allows you to add username and any other link you want to the email that gets sent when a user signs up.

It would be great if eStore could look into eMember’s database and fetch the user name. I am having exactly the problem that you describe, different PayPal and eMember email addresses, and not knowing that the two are really for the same person. eStore having access to the unique user name would go a long way to solving this problem, and save me a lot of time. I’m trying to do it myself, but I don’t know the correct php code to use the Member ID to fetch the User Name from within eStore. I’d also like eStore to send this User ID to MailChimp, so I’m trying to add the code to eStore_auto_responder_handler.php – not successful so far.
