Hi,
A client has been contacted by PayPal saying they are required to update the cart on their site so it works with PayPals new PSD2 obligations.
This will mean integrating 3DS Authentication. I wanted to ask if you are aware of this (its only for PayPal Pro Direct) and if you by any chance have an add-on available for the WP eStore plugin?
Here is the link I’ve been sent:
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/psd2
Many thanks.
May 10, 2019 at 4:41 am #79519adminKeymasterWe will update our current PayPal pro integration for it. So this shouldn’t be an issue.
May 10, 2019 at 12:37 pm #79520dangermooseSpectatorGreat, thanks. Do you have any idea when this might be implemented?
Thanks again.
June 13, 2019 at 8:48 am #79521dangermooseSpectatorHi there,
PayPal are chasing the client about this 3D secure thing.
Do you know when an update is planned for this?
Many thanks!
June 14, 2019 at 5:58 am #79522adminKeymasterI contacted them via the PayPal partner channel. They told me that they are working on another option and will be releasing more info very soon. It doesn’t go live until 14th September. So there is time for it.
June 17, 2019 at 12:55 pm #79523dangermooseSpectatorok, many thanks.
July 16, 2019 at 11:11 am #79524dangermooseSpectatorHi there, my client says he has had another call from PayPal regarding this. Do you know if there has been any updates on the Partner channel? Thanks!
July 17, 2019 at 12:04 pm #79525dangermooseSpectatorJust to add to this, this is the email sent by PayPal re PSD2:
………………….
As a business accepting card payments, your online checkout will need to be upgraded to comply with PSD2, a new European Union directive that requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). The directive applies from 14 September 2019, but card issuers are working towards SCA by April so that their systems are fully operational by the deadline.
What you need to do?
Because you’re using a PayPal Pro solution to accept card payments on your website, you need to update your online checkout to meet card issuers’ PSD2 obligations. We strongly recommend you integrate, test and launch your new authentication processes as soon as possible. Missing the deadline could lead to declined payments.
But don’t worry we’ve got your back.
We have partnered with CardinalCommerce to provide you with a FREE authentication merchant plug-in (MPI). This MPI will activate 3D-Secure (3DS) which is an authentication service performing SCA.
