Hi folks.
Is there an option to place a coupon field on the product display itself, not just inside the cart? I’m hoping the customer could input their coupon, click “Add to Cart”, and have the discount applied at the same time. I’ve been browsing through the various options and shortcodes (I have the extra shortcode addon) and worry that I’m missing the obvious, though this might just not be a feature available at this time.
Many thanks for your assistance.
Regards,
Ashlee
October 14, 2013 at 10:12 pm #58332adminKeymasterHi Ashlee, The discount coupon option always needs to be inside the cart. It is basically how any shopping cart works. The customers add item(s) to the shopping cart then apply a coupon (if he/she has one) then do the checkout.

October 21, 2013 at 6:49 pm #58334sailor33MemberIs there a way to add a discount coupon field outside the shopping cart? This makes sense if I have only one product (membership) and use a “buy now” button that goes straight to paypal, instead to the shopping cart (where the customer anyway couldnt change anything, as there is only 1 product available). Is there any workaround to display the coupon field beside a “buy now” button that goes directly to paypal?
Thanks for help
October 21, 2013 at 11:38 pm #58335adminKeymasterBuy Now buttons are to be used when you just want the customer to click on that button and it takes the customer directly to PayPal for payment and hence the name Buy Now. If you want to add customization for the purchase along the way (example: apply coupon) then you need to use Add to cart type buttons.
Use the add to cart button and configure it correctly then you will see that you are going to get the pretty much the same scenario you are after.
This is how it will work:
1) You place the add to cart button on your landing page.
2) When the customers clicks on it, they go to another page called checkout where there is a shopping cart that is allowing them to enter a discount coupon. Go to eStore settings menu and check the “Automatic redirection to checkout page” which does that auto redirection after someone clicks an add to cart button.
3) The customers can then click the checkout button and pay for it.
