Hey guys is there any chance of instituting the Adaptive Payments API as mentioned by paypal here: https://www.x.com/developers/paypal/products/adaptive-payments
Frank.
September 8, 2011 at 12:14 am #36359adminKeymasterI intend to add this to the payment gateway bundle plugin (it will be a while before I get time to add this though):

September 9, 2011 at 1:54 am #36360FrankMemberSo it will permit automatic distribution of payments on purchase? If so, I’m in.

March 30, 2012 at 6:10 pm #36362richissaMemberDo you have an eta on the adaptive payments integration yet? We would REALLY love to see that added. There are other carts coming out with it, but I would rather not have to go to the trouble of migrating all of my products to a new cart and affiliate system.

Two years ago when that thread was started, adaptive payments were pretty new. Today there are several plugins that now handle them and so I’m curious if you’d consider adding them in the future

May 22, 2014 at 1:41 am #36365adminKeymasterHi Kim, The payment gateway bundle actually has the adaptive payment API already (it is used for PayPal pro subscription).
Now, the split payment (chained payment) is not very simple because PayPal has a few restrictions on them. For example: You (the merchant) need to ask paypal for approval to the split payment API separately (even if you have access to adaptive payment API).
The good news is that there is an estore addon that I have developed for split payment. The issue is that the setup is not very trivial since you (as the merchant) need to contact PayPal and submit your business details and get approval. So there is a bit of manual process involved. This is why I haven’t released this split payment addon yet. Use the contact form to get in touch and I can give you a copy of this addon for testing.
