activate/show products or deactivate/hide products

I have not found information on activating/deactivating products.

For example, I have a product listed. It sells out. When I review orders and such, I would like to hide (deactivate) that item until there is inventory to sell. I know there is a sold out that appears based on the counts I have in the system.

Did I miss the information on how to hide/deactivate a product?
