Like others before me, i am getting this error when clicking on the paypal checkout button in my sidebar shopping cart. Here’s the page: [http://www.hometownsupersound.com/?page_id=6]
I’ve read other forum posts about this. This is what i’ve gleaned and tried to check..
My chmods are on 755 and 644 for the estore plugin directory (is this correct?).
I dont have any ” marks in my product name.
I tried changing my permalink structure but it didn’t work, as apparently my .htaccess file isnt writable. I don’t hav an .htaccess file anyway within on my server, even with hidden files showing in my ftp. So I can’t tell if that is the problem either.
I’ve been sitting here for hours getting squinty eyes trying to fix this, can you please help?
EDIT: this only happens with the cart – a buy now button takes you straight to paypal with no problems. I’m using WordPress 3.0.4.

Please have a look at the “Incorrect server setup” section of the following post –

January 21, 2011 at 12:34 pm #28207melemelMemberThansk guys, I just looked at the incorrect server setup section, and yes i did have two different URLs – one was missing the “www”. So I fixed it but it didn’t solve the problem.
Any other advice? Ideally don’t want to go back to using e-junkie after paying for this plugin, as it seems to have great potential.

The actual issue is written in the server log that only your hosting provider has access to. Unless you can tell us what that log file is saying we don’t even know what issue you are faced with.
January 21, 2011 at 12:52 pm #28209melemelMemberOk i’ll contact my host and see if i can get a log file. Thanks for your help so far
January 21, 2011 at 3:23 pm #28210melemelMemberOk, my host said this
“
This file/folder is writeable by group.
//public_html/wp-content
Change this value and then try running your script again. “
I thought – huh, i’ve already done that, but actually though the plugin folder was at 755, my wp-content folder was at 777 (god knows why, ive been fiddling around with all sorts and forgot to change it back).
And voila – problem solved. Just goes to show – must double check these things!
November 3, 2012 at 5:06 pm #28211dllsoftwareMemberThe time for my paypal orders are 7 hours earlier than the real time. I have setup my proper time zone in paypal. How can I get the time to properly reflect the central standard time zone ?
Thanks,
Dan
November 3, 2012 at 9:31 pm #28212wzpModeratorWhere is the server located?
Does WordPress think it is in the (GMT-6) Central Standard Timezone?
It sounds like, from your description, the server is running off Zulu (GMT) time. Maybe this might help:
