Greetings,
I’ve been going throuh the eMember doc’s but cannot find answers to the following;
I have created 3 pages, each for a free member level.
I need to add Custom Fields to each of the sign ups with different role.
level 1 will fill out 3 forms
level 2 will fill out 5 forms
level 3 will fill out 7 forms
I cannot see how I can add different forms to each of the member levels, is it possible without displaying all of the forms to the other levels or?
Members will not been able to view other members profiles or search their info. Is it possible as admin to search for content they add to the Custom Fields?
Extra Field Info
What is this field for? I added text to it but it didn’t show up on registration page.
For many reasons I don’t want the sign up forms to be public and I don’t want to link direct to each level from the join us page.
If I link to each of the three member level sign up pages from the join us page and use this code here;
[free_rego_with_email_confirmation ]
When they click the confirm link in their email, will they be taken to the member level they need to sign up for or will I use this code;?
[wp_eMember_registration_form_for level=1 ]
Now the hard part.
Each level needs to have categories of interest, they shall be able to choose one or as many categories they have interest in and, in the sign up process, they need to mark which of the categories they are interested in. I’ll be sending out emails to each of the levels and it will be based up on the categories they are interested in.
I know I can create 100’s of levels but that’s away too many sign ups!
What is the easiest to do? Drop this project?
To solve the category issue it would be easiest to use email plugin that allow multiply listing from one sign up, are there any simple text based (no need for HTML) email plugin anyone can recommend? I ask as I have tested endless email plugins with limited or none support at all when needed.
I prefer paid services that offer support and responds to emails before I´ve to pay to find out they’re not providing what they publish on their site!
I am using Wysija preminum plugin on other projects but, they only offer HTML version. (It would be great to have this plugin added to the list of supported newsletter/autoresponders as they offer free version with the only limition of 1000 subscribers.)

September 18, 2012 at 11:40 pm #49383adminKeymasterUpdate: The following eMember addon can be used to create different custom registration form for different membership levels:

Hi Dennis, After reading all the requirements… I don’t think eMember will serve best for this product. Custom fields are common to each registration form. eMember doesn’t have an option to have different customer fields for different levels. Mainly because we use one registration form for all signups. This post has more info on this which will answer a few other questions you have:
However, you can place a registration form on a particular page for a specific level using the method explained here:
The extra field info is used for a note to the admin. It is also used if you create a drop down custom field (there is a help text in that page which will explain that).
September 19, 2012 at 10:19 am #49384DennisMemberThanks Admin,
I already went through this pages you link to.
eMember is just perfect for this task, in this case it isn’t important to hide all the other forms for all levels, it just add extra forms they don’t need to fill out and I cannot make it required to be filled out before they hit the registration button.
In this case, the only downside to it is, it offer them to come back later to fill it out but, they might never do!
By adding the option in future update to link registration page to different levels, it would allow us to get all the benefits of the extra forms and make it required to fill out, this option alone would be a great add-on to all the other great possibilities eMember offer to build a great member platform.
Dennis.
September 20, 2012 at 2:33 am #49385adminKeymasterJust a suggestion… couldn’t you collect those details via the “Edit Profile” area? This way they wouldn’t need to fill a lot of details at signup time. After they signkup and log into the site, you can instruct them to go to the “Edit Profile” area and add in all the additional info.
September 24, 2012 at 11:53 pm #49386DennisMemberI got it to work the way I want it but then the short code for “Detailed Profile Display Shortcode” does not work, only a blank page while “Summary Profile List Shortcode” works.
I have tried every version of the code, with all fields or just one marked and everything in between. Always the same blank page.
Extra Field Info
Would be nice to be able to add extra info on the registration form as the “Detailed Profile Display Shortcode” will not include the form in the short code if the text is too long.
September 25, 2012 at 3:20 am #49387adminKeymasterYou may not be understanding how the details profile display works. You need to click on the details link for the user that you are interested in and then it will show the details of that user in the detailed profile display page. If you directly go to that page, it won’t know whose profile to show.
The purpose of the eMember profile extended addon is to allow your visitors to browse trough a list of your members then see the details of a particular member. Are you using this addon for this purpose or are you trying to use it for something else?
September 25, 2012 at 8:56 am #49388DennisMemberOK, so its only function is to display members info after I click the link, got that.
This two pages will not be public or for members, only for admins to search members based on the info they add to the Extra forms I created.
There is one field missing in the Detailed Profile Page Fields – Country – its not listed as an option but, it is one of the mandatory fields for my project.
September 26, 2012 at 1:37 am #49389nurMemberHello Dennis,
“Country” field was missing in the shortcode generator page. we have added that. if you download the addon now, you’ll get the modified version.
Thanks,
N
