Is there a way that a parent affiliate can place a link to my website, which passes the affiliate ID as well as a sub-ID (2nd tier affiliate) without the need of sub affiliate signing up to the website.
For example: [http://www.mystore.com/?affiliate=vsmedia&subid=12345]
Can I place a sub ID tag in the affiliate link or is there a much easier way to implement this?
No, thats not how it works. An affiliate needs to create an affiliate account profile so data can be attached/stored with that account.
Your affiliates simply have to refer users the exact same way they do their referrals. If a user follows the referral and signs up as an affiliate, it will automatically establish the 2nd tier affiliate connection (given you are using this feature).
