Also, regarding the Paypal integration, this is from a document from Paypal which outlines what I am trying to do:

Recurring payments with Direct Payment enables a recurring payment to be associated with a debit or credit card. For these payments, you must collect on your website all necessary information from your buyer, including billing amount and buyer’s credit card information.

After you have collected the information, call the CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile API for each profile to be created. The CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile request must contain all required credit card information and must not contain a value for the TOKEN field.

Thank you for the link, although this is not quite the process we are looking for. What we are trying to do is to accept credit card payments through our own form, pass the transaction to Paypal in the background, and send the customer to the register page…. we do NOT want to send them to a Paypal checkout page … is this scenario possible?

So essentially you are saying there is no way for a customer to subscribe to our service using Paypal as the payment gateway without having to create a Paypal account?

We have recurring billing enabled via our Paypal Pro account
