Hi I am not so technical I finally launched your Affiliate Plugin on my site yesterday
http://www.mumsbusinessdirectory.com/affiliate/
but customers are getting an Image Verfication Failed message on the re captcha when they submit.
The account is being created but they don’t know that until they have queired it with me. i have set up and testing my account this worked with other test customers too but now it has gone wrong have no idea why?
Do I have a plugin conflict? or a bug? does anyone have any ideas please. Thanks Emz
September 23, 2011 at 1:02 am #36882adminKeymasterLooks like some HTML code on this page is broken (most likely there are unclosed paragraph or div tags on this page which is having a cascading effect). Before diving into that lets do the following and see how it goes:
1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s).
Let me know how it goes after that.
September 23, 2011 at 9:01 am #36883EBMBDMemberI don’t usually do manual uploads I might have to get a more technical person to help me.
Ooo sounds a bit scary how will this effect everything up I have set up so far will I lose it all and have to start again if I delete the installed version? thanks Emz
September 24, 2011 at 1:23 am #36884adminKeymasterYou never loose any settings data just by deleting the plugin. This is explained in more details on the update instruction page of the plugin in question.
September 27, 2011 at 12:17 pm #36885EBMBDMemberHi Admin,
This morning I have taken steps 1, 2, and 3 above as you suggested… I was a little nervous but all went smoothly and I reinstalled the plugin however the same image verification failed message has come up so it appears something must be wrong elsewhere.
Please can you advise how I can try and rectify this.
Many thanks Emma
September 28, 2011 at 1:14 am #36886adminKeymasterDo you see this same reCAPTCHA error when you test a signup from the sandalone affiliate version? You can access the standalone affiliate area from the following URL (change “your-domain” with the actual domain name):
http://www.your-domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/
September 28, 2011 at 11:49 am #36887EBMBDMemberHi Admin,
Thank you for your quick reply. I just tried it with my domain and it worked fine no error.
Came up with message your registration is now complete and emails came through all good which isn’t happening on my site wondering what this means…
Emma
September 29, 2011 at 2:26 am #36888adminKeymasterOkay so that means that you have a plugin or theme that is making reCAPTCH to not work when you use the on page affiliate option. Please do this test to identify the source:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/test-to-identy-a-conflicting-theme-or-plugin
September 29, 2011 at 7:26 am #36889EBMBDMemberOk thank you for all your advice
I will work through this today… don’t think it’s the theme as it did origianlly work fine when set up but who knows… I went through all your videos again yesterday couldn’t see anything obviously set up wrong…
Going to start with Sabre plugin as this is relatively new as had a spam problem on site so maybe this has caused it.. if not will work through systematically and let you know how I get on :-)Emma
September 29, 2011 at 11:22 am #36890EBMBDMemberOk so far have deactivated all plugins except yours and the recaptcha worked no problem so I am ruling out my theme as had left that intact.
Just wondering if you know if any of the plugins I have activated have a conflict issue… I am going to work my way through they are:
Akismet,All in One SEO Pack,AutoChimp,Contact Form 7,Exclude Pages from Navigation,FaceBook Share (New)
,GD Star Rating,Google Analyticator,Mail From,Online Backup for WordPress,PremiumPress User Photo,Really Simple CAPTCHA,Restore Post Id,Search Everything,Share and Follow,Simple Facebook Connect,Social Media Widget,Users to CSV,Video Traffic Genius,Web Traffic Genius,WordPress.com Stats,WordPress plugin – Google +1 Button,WP Security Scan,Youtube shortcode
& SABRE but this appears ok as tried it earlier!
Wish me luck Emma
September 29, 2011 at 12:17 pm #36891EBMBDMemberEureka, thank you for pointing me in the right direction I have after 21 test attempts found the offending plugin Simple Facebook Connect so have deleted it and all works as it should
Very happy now as had a soft launch for my affiliate programme last week but the official launch and press release scheduled for this Monday 03 october and can sleep easy now… many thanks for a fab plugin and all your help Emma
September 29, 2011 at 11:41 pm #36892adminKeymasterGlad to hear that.
April 5, 2012 at 7:47 pm #36893revtrevMemberI’m having the same issue after I installed Simple Facebook Connect. I really like having that plugin. Has any other solution come up? I deactivated SFC and the captcha works again.
Anyway to use a different Captcha?
April 6, 2012 at 5:20 am #36894adminKeymasterDoes that plugin use reCAPTCHA for any of it’s functionality?
April 6, 2012 at 4:14 pm #36895revtrevMemberNo it doesn’t. Simple FaceBook Connect is a way for people to log into my site to post comments without leaving their email address. The added bonus for me is that when they post a comment it goes on their facebook wall for added exposure. I’m trying had to incorporate more social networking on my site so if there is a way to use a different captcha on for wp-affiliate it would be great.
