For some reason my pdf files will not open in Firefox or Internet Explorer. It forces a download of the file vs. displaying it.
Here is a url for my site: [http://strismaher.com/wordpress/?page_id=1989]
The bottom link “brief” has a pdf attached to it. Thanks!
When I hover over the mouse on the link I see that it directs to a .swf file, not a PDF file.
First, you need to have a adobe acrobat/reader installed on your computer. Now you need to make sure that you can view the PDF file when you directly access it in the browser window. It will only work with lightbox if your browser can display it (For firefox you might need to change the “content” settings so it doesn’t start downloading PDF).
You won’t have this issue on Google Chrome because it has a built-in PDF viewer plugin.
Thanks for the response. I actually figured that out. I migrated to a swf file so that there would be no issues between the different browsers. I used box.com to upload the pdf too and link back with their swf. It gives it the same look without the comparability issue.
