Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › eMember – The email address you are using is already taken! Issue
I’ve read the threads I can find on this issue and none of the solutions posted on them seem to have helped so far. Whenever a user tried to register for an account they get the message “The email address you are using is already taken!” even though they haven’t finished registration.
I read that it might be a plugin conflict or theme conflict so I switched to the default WP theme and it worked fine. At this point I have turned off all of my plugins except for Akismet, Google Analytics (by Kevin Sylvestre), Google Analytics Dashboard (by Carson McDonald), Twitter Widget, your plugins (WP Affiliate, WP eMember, WP eStore, WP Lightbox Ultimate), and WP PayPal Donation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My site is http://www.ejfilms.net and the free registration page is http://www.ejfilms.net/join-us/
I’ve switched things about so that they don’t have to register using a confirmation through their email at this point (just to traverse the issue). However now I get the error “Error! Unique registration code do not match!” whenever I try to register.
I just went to the link you shared and singed up for an account and everything worked fine for me. Maybe you weren’t using the membership level specific shortcode for the registration page earlier?
Huh, how odd, it’s working fine now. Might have been that I had recently deleted a user and tried to sign up with the email attributed to them or something. Oh well! I just won’t mess with it too much now that it’s working the way I want it to.
Thanks!
