I want to use Ultimate Lightbox with WP-eStore for a PPV service serving from Amazon S3 and cloudfront.
1-I now use JW Player, will this become redundant if using the popup window or is a player needed ?
2-I did not see in the instructions if the video’s cloudfront distribution can be set to “streaming” ?
3-should cloudfront not be used?
thanks
February 15, 2012 at 4:01 pm #41975bravoMemberI would also like to know if this plugin supports streaming via cloudfront rather than just progressive download.
February 16, 2012 at 1:01 am #41976wpCommerceModeratorHi, currently we don’t have Amazon Cloudfront integration. We have Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) integration with Flowplayer.
February 16, 2012 at 9:33 am #41977TakiMemberOk, Clear about Cloudfront.
No problem that it does not work with JW Player, but do I need to buy a Flowplayer license? I really the free one is not very nice.
Can it work with out Flowplayer ?
February 16, 2012 at 1:53 pm #41978wpCommerceModeratorYou don’t need any Flowplayer license to play Amazon S3 video.
Flowplayer license allows you to remove the “Flowplayer” logo and use your own customized logo.
You need a player to run video. For example: mp4, flv, mov. We are using flowplayer to do that. But if you really want to use a different player you can try our HTML5 player. It can play Amazon S3 video.
February 17, 2012 at 8:47 am #41979TakiMemberOk that is clear.
– I assume your HTML 5 Player is the only way that it will work on iOS ?
-no cloudfront, that’s fine. but can the distribution in S3 be set to streaming so a user can advance a video ?
February 17, 2012 at 12:24 pm #41980wpCommerceModerator-Yes, you need the HTML5 player to play video on ios.
-I’m sure that won’t be a problem if you set the video to streaming.
February 17, 2012 at 9:47 pm #41981TakiMemberAgain, clear, thanks.
I was just getting my head around using APR to sell PPV. Seems to be a good solution. I have S3 videos playing in JW player that works everywhere and plays full screen. Other then the lightbox effect (which is very nice), what advantage is there to using Ultimate lightbox over Permalinks and APR ?
February 18, 2012 at 11:44 pm #41982wpCommerceModeratorwhat do you mean by APR?

February 20, 2012 at 12:15 am #41984wpCommerceModeratorHi, PPV using APR is a different scenario. You can’t really compare it with Lightbox Ultimate.
Generally you need to manually embed a video on a page/post whereas Lightbox Ultimate allows you to display it in overlay (lightbox effect). You can also directly embed video using our shortcodes.
July 1, 2012 at 10:31 pm #41985eldigital2MemberIs that the only way to get streaming video is by using HTML5? Or is that just for iOS? I am assuming I am missing something important because my vids are not even starting at all. I am on AmazonS3. Being embedded or flowplayer it doesnt pop up. Do I absolutely need flowplayer to keep my videos secure?
July 2, 2012 at 12:20 am #41986wpCommerceModeratorHi, currently we have two players (flowplayer & HTML5) that you can use to popup private Amazon s3 video. The plugin uses the HTML5 player for devices that don’t support flash (for example: iOS).
Can you please post a link to the page where you are having this issue?
July 2, 2012 at 12:55 am #41987eldigital2MemberThe first one is wp_lightbox_html5_video and the second is wp_lightbox_protected_s3_video

Am I actually streaming video this way? or are my members needing to download the whole thing before viewing?
July 2, 2012 at 1:35 am #41988wpCommerceModeratorHi, Your members don’t need to download the whole video. The player plays the video as it buffers. I think there is a formatting issue with your video. Please check out this post:
