Hello, I currently use the WP eStore plugin and really like it. Thanks for all the excellent work on such a great plugin.
PayPal recently started offering a middle version of their payment solutions for businesses called “Adavnced”. They now have three options “Standard” (which is what I currently use with WP eStore), “Advanced” and “Pro”. I would really like to use their “Advanced” option as it allows the PayPal checkout process to happen securely iframed within my own site thus decreasing abandoned carts. However, after doing some checking, it does not appear that WP eStore supports this option.
Here is my question:
Are there any plans for WP eStore to support PayPal Advanced checkout solution?
Again, I really like your WP eStore cart and I am hoping that I do not need to switch to another solution to gain this checkout functionality. Thanks in advance for your prompt reply.
Regards,
SDesign
August 18, 2012 at 11:08 pm #48466adminKeymasterHi, We have added the PayPal Pro gateway that allows your users to checkout items without leaving your site in the gateway bundle addon which can be used with eStore:

We plan to add the other PayPal option to the gateway bundle too.
The theory of higher abandonment if a user goes to the PayPal site for payment can be slightly misleading though. I will explain a little…
PayPal have branded themselves in a way that most customers these days actually feel safer and more comfortable if they are entering their financial details or login credentials while they are on PayPal.com site. I personally prefer to enter details on PayPal.com than XYZ.com. So in some cases it actually works better if you send the customer to PayPal.com. This is part of the reason why even some of the big brands out there send the customers to PayPal.com for their PayPal checkout.

It is nice to hear that you will be adding this new functionality as well. What is the ETA for adding “PayPal Payment Advanced” to the gateway bundle?
October 8, 2012 at 7:39 pm #48468hestesMemberHas Paypal Advanced been added to the gateway bundle yet? I am very interested in being able to use that Paypal Service.
Thanks!

October 9, 2012 at 10:46 am #48470hestesMemberThanks, wzp. I hope you’re right. I would love to be able to use that feature.
October 10, 2012 at 2:54 am #48471hestesMemberI received word today that Paypal Advanced is not available in the gateway bundle plugin at this time.
October 10, 2012 at 4:31 am #48472SDesignMemberI would just like to follow up again and say that I am still very interested in the addition of “PayPal Payment Advanced” to the Gateway Bundle. I have a couple clients that could use and would prefer this option if available.
Another payment option I saw mentioned in another post that would also be very handy is the “checkout by Amazon” option. It interfaces with the shopping cart and allows a user to use their Amazon account to checkout.
Any updates from Admin on ETA of the “PayPal Payment Advanced” addition would be greatly appreciated.
October 10, 2012 at 8:51 am #48473adminKeymasterWe should have something on this in a few weeks time.
November 9, 2012 at 4:35 am #48474dmtcMemberI am interested as well in the Paypal Advanced. Is there an update yet.
Many thanks.

January 18, 2013 at 11:34 pm #48476RobertParticipantI am also looking for the Paypal Advanced option. Any updates on this?
January 19, 2013 at 2:04 am #48477adminKeymasterWe are currently working on adding stripe gateway to our gateway bundle addon.

As soon as that one is done we intend to work on the PayPal advanced option.
March 8, 2013 at 12:37 am #48478ihstivMember+1 for paypal advanced! looking forward to letting our users check out without leaving our site.
Note that this would also resolve a lot of the shipping calculation issues that are caused by having both physical products and digital downloads – using the current paypal basic checkout system.
November 22, 2013 at 5:38 pm #48479cindyjwMemberChecking in……my client needs to use Paypal Advanced. We just recently purchased eStore thinking it wouldn’t be a problem with Paypal Advanced. Is eStore setup to use it? If not, can I get my money back on the purchase of eStore?
