I’ll do that later tonight, since the site is live and don’t want to make a major change like that during regular business hours. I’ll let you know the results.
I tried the next best thing during this time. Since the Dev… or really Staging might be a better term for it and the production site are both using the same theme, I ftp’ed the footer.php from the staging site that works to the production site. There was no change in functionality.
I’ll keep you updated when I have more info.
